Province, education office to cooperate in ‘proper’ history education
Next year is 70th anniversary of April Third Incident

With the 70th anniversary of the April Third Incident coming next year, the provincial government and the provincial education office say they will work together to ensure students are given a “proper” history education.

Superintendent of education Lee Seok-mun and Governor Won Heeryong agreed to that plan during a Thursday meeting of the province’s Education and Administration Council.

They agreed to work with the April Third Incident Victims Association to conduct projects and programs designed to ensure proper awareness and education of local history.

In addition, they agreed to gradually solve the school commute problems that have arisen after changes to the island’s public transport system.

내년 4.3 70주년을 앞두고 올바른 역사교육을 위해 제주도교육청과 제주도가 협력하기로 했습니다.

양 기관은 내년 4.3 70주년을 앞두고 4,3유족회와 함께 제주역사의 올바른 인식과 교육 사업을 펼치기로 했습니다.

또 대중교통체계 개편과 관련해 학생통학 불편 해소를 위한 단계별 대책을 마련해 나가기로 했습니다.
