Outdoor-grown mandarin oranges USA-bound
Nearly 500 tons to be shipped by end of year

Outdoor-grown mandarin oranges from Jeju are being exported to the USA.

According to the Jeju branch of Nonghyup, 72 tons of mandarins from its offices in Jungmun and Seogwipo were shipped Tuesday.

These are the year’s first exports of outdoor-grown mandarins. Five island Nonghyup offices will ship 478 tons of the citrus to America by the end of this year.

Last year, Jeju Nonghyup exported 412 tons of mandarins to the U.S.

올해산 노지감귤이 미국 수출길에 올랐습니다.

농협제주지역본부에 따르면 중문과 서귀포농협이 오늘 감귤 72톤을 미국에 수출하기 위해 선적했습니다.

올해산 노지감귤의 수출은 이번이 처음으로 올 연말까지 도내 5개 농협에서 478톤을 미국으로 수출하게 됩니다.

제주농협은 지난해 감귤 412톤을 미국으로 수출한 바 있습니다.
