College Scholastic Ability Test postponed due to mainland earthquake

The Jeju Provincial Office of Education is redoing preparations for the College Scholastic Ability Test, which was delayed for one week due to earthquake damage in and around the mainland city of Pohang.

Superintendent of Education Lee Seok-mun said in a Thursday briefing that his office would re-assign test site supervisors and redo its supply of testing materials.

The test papers that had been moved to Seogwipo for the exam are being brought back to the office of education. The police and the education office will oversee the security of the papers.

The office will not change test sites, but it will rearrange desks and classrooms to prevent cheating.

道교육청, "수능 시험장 처음부터 준비"

제주도교육청이 수능 일주일 연기에 따라 시험장을 처음부터 다시 준비합니다.

이석문 제주도교육감은 오늘 오전 도교육청에서 열린 브리핑을 통해 수능 감독관 배치 등 시험장 준비를 원점에서 추진한다며 시험장 준비에 필요한 기자재와 물품도 새롭게 구비할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

특히, 서귀포로 보관됐던 수능 시험지도 제주도 교육청으로 옮겨 통합관리하며 경찰, 교육부와 함께 24시간 보안 관리하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.

또, 연기된 수능 당일 수능 시험장은 그대로 유지하되 부정행위 방지를 위해 책상과 교실은 새롭게 배치하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
