Ban on poultry shipments to Jeju
Highly-pathogenic avian influenza discovered at mainland duck farm

The provincial government has banned poultry shipments to the island after researchers discovered highly-pathogenic avian influenza on a duck farm in Gochang, (전북) Jeonbuk.

Officials have barred all meat and eggs from Jeollabuk-do. Products from other areas of the mainland are allowed, but they must be reported one day before shipment.

Local authorities also temporarily banned livestock transport on the island, and they have begun extensive disinfection and other preventive measures.

Finally, the local government is urging people to report any suspected cases of bird flu.

제주도, 가금류 반입금지 전국으로 확대

전북 고창에서의 오리농장 고병원성 AI 확진에 따라 제주특별자치도가 오늘(20일)부터 가금류 반입금지지역을 전국으로 확대하고 있습니다.

다만 가금육이나 알 등 가금산물의 경우 반입금지지역을 전라북도산으로 한정해 놓고 있으며 나머지 지역의 경우 반입 하루전에 신고해야 가능하도록 했습니다.

이와 함께 내일까지 가축 등의 일시 이동중지 명령을 발동하고 대대적인 소독과 방역활동에 나서기로 했습니다.

제주도는 AI 의심사례를 발견할 경우 즉시 신고해 줄 것을 당부하고 있습니다.
