‘Seoul must guarantee students’ safety’
Public petition after accident kills HS student during on-the-job training

Local high school student Lee Min-ho died November 19th as a result of injuries he received during on-the-job training, and a national petition is underway to prevent similar tragedies.

Supporters of the petition say this is only the latest example of field placements gone wrong. They say students are often subject to verbal and physical abuse and that others have died due to accidents.

They call schools that only focus on higher employment rates for their graduates and companies that only try to squeeze as much work out of the students as possible “deep rooted evils.” They are demanding that the national government eliminate such practices.

The presidential office of Cheongwadae must respond to the petition if it gains more than 200,000 signatures in the next 25 days.

고 이민호 군 사망 사고와 관련해 청와대 국민청원에 현장실습생의 안전 보장을 요구하는 청원이 접수됐습니다.

청원에는 현장실습 과정에서 폭언과 폭행, 불의의 사고로 목숨을 잃은 학생도 많다고 주장했습니다.

또 취업률에 목메는 학교, 노동을 착취하는 회사 모두 적폐이며 사회안의 적폐 청산에도 심혈을 기울여달라고 호소했습니다.

이번 청원은 앞으로 29일간 참여를 받게 되며 20만 명 이상 참여한 청원에 대해서는 관계자가 직접 답변을 하게 됩니다.
