Local firms predict tougher times in December
Business survey index tumbles in November

Jeju’s business climate lost a bit of its luster in November.

The Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea surveyed 218 local firms. The November business survey index came in at 75, down four percentage points from October. It is also five points lower than the national average.

That means local firms expect business in December to be slightly worse. At the top of the list of problems they reported was trouble finding enough workers. They also cited rising labor costs, weak domestic demand, and fierce competition.

이달들어 제주지역 기업경기가 위축되고 있습니다.

한국은행 제주본부가 도내 218개 업체를 대상으로 기업경기실사지수를 조사한 결과 이달 업황지수는 지난달보다 4p 하락한 75로 전국평균보다 5p 낮았습니다.

기업들은 경영애로로 인력난과 인건비 상승, 내수부진, 경쟁심화 순으로 꼽았고
다음달 기업경기도 다소 악화될 것으로 전망했습니다.
