548 temporary government positions to become permanent
Changes go into effect January 1

Officials are converting hundreds of temporary jobs with the provincial government and the island’s two municipal administrations into permanent positions.

The change, which goes into effect in January, affects 548 people in five departments, including administration, health and hygiene, and agriculture and forestry.

The list also includes 246 people in 49 employment and welfare programs. They are the only such workers in the nation to be making the switch to regular employment.

Officials excluded seasonal employees and workers hired for temporary projects from the list.

제주도, 비정규직 근로자 548명 정규직 전환

제주특별자치도와 행정시에 소속돼 있는 비정규직 근로자가 내년 1월부터 정규직으로 전환됩니다.

전환 대상은 일반사무와 보건위생, 농림환경 등 5개 직종에 근무하는 548명입니다.

특히 49개 실업.복지대책사업에 근무하는 246명도 전국에서 유일하게 전환 대상에 포함됐습니다.

다만 계절이나 시기별로 채용되는 근로자, 6개월 단위로 채용되는 사업 또는 공공근로사업은 정규직 전환 대상에서 제외됐습니다.
