Local prosecutors to focus on protecting natural heritage
New work begins in January

The Jeju District Prosecutor's Office is now officially designated to focus on protecting natural heritage.

It will begin the work in January. The designation is the result of a contest by the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office to find special fields of focus for all district offices in the country.

The Jeju District Prosecutor's Office will actively investigate corruption regarding construction permits as well as deforestation and other acts that damage natural heritage.

제주지방검찰청이 자연유산보호 중점 검찰청으로 공식 지정됐습니다.

대검찰청은 전국 검찰청을 대상으로 전문분야 지정 공모를 실시해 제주지검을
자연유산보호 중점 검찰청으로 지정하고 내년 1월 공식출범한다고 밝혔습니다.

이에 따라 제주지검은 자연유산을 파괴하는 대규모 불법형질변경이나 산림훼손 등을 비롯해 개발사업 인허가 비리 수사에 적극 나서게 됩니다.
