Council passes \5.03t budget for next year
Lawmakers add \3.7b in funding to education office

The provincial council on Wednesday passed the special budget committee’s 2018 budget proposal of nearly 5.03 trillion won.

Lawmakers trimmed 31.2 billion won off the original plan. That includes 5.3 billion in fuel subsidies for taxis and buses and 2.2 billion for a building for the Jeju Women and Family Research Institute.

They also added funding for other projects. More money was set aside for plans to make life more “convenient” for local residents, build senior citizens centers, and improve and expand island roads.

Lawmakers also boosted the budget for the education office by 3.7 billion to a total of nearly 1.1 trillion won.

내년 제주도 예산 5조297억원 확정

제주도의회는 오늘 7차 본회의를 열고 예산결산특별위원회가 의결한 5조 297억 원 규모의 제주도의 내년도 예산안을 통과시켰습니다.

도의회는 택시와 버스업계 유류연동보조금 53억 원과 여성가족연구원 청사 매입 예산 22억 원 등 312억 원을 삭감한 뒤

주민 불편해소 사업 시설비와 경로당 건립비, 읍면 군도 확포장 사업비 등에 증액했습니다.

1조 896억원 규모로 편성된 제주도교육청의 내년도 예산은 37억 원 증액된 1조 933억 원으로 최종 확정됐습니다.
