Jeju City wants to prevent a perennial problem ? sand loss at Iho Beach.

The city has opened up a nationwide search for specialists to study the phenomenon. Officials want to figure out what’s happening to the sand and how to prevent any more of it from disappearing.

Every year, the city has to purchase hundreds of tons of sand to spread out on the beach to make up for what has been lost.

이호해수욕장의 모래 유실 문제가 해마다 지속됨에 따라 제주시가 원인 분석과 대책 마련을 추진합니다.

이를 위해 이호해수욕장 모래유실 실태조사와 방지대책에 대한 용역을 시행하기로 하고 전국 단위로 입찰을 공고했습니다.

현재 이호해수욕장에는 모래 유실 현상이 반복되면서 해마다 모래 수백톤을 구입하거나 한쪽에 쏠린 모래를 평탄화하는 방식으로 백사장을 채우고 있습니다.
