제주신화월드 사업자인 람정제주개발은 보도자료를 통해
카지노 이전이 무산될 상황에 처하면서 경영계획에 차질이 생겼다며
계획된 모든 채용 일정을 잠정 중단한다고 밝혔습니다.

이에대해 제주주민자치연대는 오늘 성명을 내고
람정이 카지노 확장 이전 계획에 차질이 빚어지자
사실상 일자리를 볼모로 이전 허가를 압박하고 있다고 비판했습니다.

그러면서 지난 8월 람정제주개발 부사장이
카지노와 관계없이 도민과의 약속인 채용은 그대로 이행될 것이라는
발언은 허언이었던 셈이라고 꼬집었습니다.

Despite Jeju’s new Shinhwa World nearing completion, there is still a possibility that the Landing Casino will not be relocated to the site. Thus, Shinhwa World has said it is cancelling all of its scheduled recruiting sessions.

Landing Jeju Development, the developer of Jeju Shinhwa World, said in a press release that it will suspend all of its scheduled recruiting due to a changed business plan that may see the relocation not happen.

In response, the Jeju Citizens for Self-Government issued a statement yesterday. It criticized that Landing Jeju Development is threatening the government with the relocation as it faces a setback in its casino expansion plans.

It added that a statement by the vice president of Landing that the company would implement its plans as promised, regardless of other factors, was indeed a lie.
