Stricter oversight of casinos begins next year
Local inspectors will learn from their counterparts in Singapore

The provincial government plans to introduce what it’s calling an “international management system” for casinos next year.

It will launch personnel exchanges with Singapore’s casino regulatory office in an effort to boost the capabilities and effectiveness of local inspectors.

Authorities will also commission research into both how to standardize casino accounting practices to ensure transparent recordkeeping and how to confirm that casinos pay their required amount into the Tourism Promotion Fund.

Finally, the province will work to add regulations on renewing casino permits and the transfer or division of the businesses to the seventh revision of the Jeju Special Law.
