‘Give Jeju governor the authority to restrict vehicles’
National Assembly member’s proposal aims to ease parking, traffic problems

A National Assembly member has proposed giving the provincial government the authority to restrict vehicle use on the island.

Lawmaker Wi Seong-gon, from the Democratic Party of Korea, says revising the Jeju Special Law in that way would help ease traffic and parking problems in Jeju.

The proposed revision would give the governor the power to restrict vehicle operations throughout the whole island. That would allow the province to regulate the number of rental cars and buses in Jeju.

제주도에 이양하는 법안이 추진됩니다.

더불어민주당 위성곤 국회의원은 이같은 내용의 제주특별법 개정안을 발의했다고 밝혔습니다.

이번에 발의된 개정안에는 제주도지사의 차량 운행 제한 권한을 제주전역으로 확장하고 급증하는 렌터카와 전세버스의 수급계획 수립을 제주도 조례로 정할 수 있도록 했습니다.
