Ringing in the new year in Jeju City
Performances and food at City Hall

An event to ring in the new year at Jeju City Hall will include the striking of a traditional drum at 12 a.m. January first.

The festival will start at 10:00 p.m. with a traditional percussion performance. A laser show and a concert by soprano Gang Hea-myeong will follow.

Officials have already selected 50 people from all walks of life to strike the drum. They also say anyone else who wants to will be given the opportunity.

In addition, the (새마을) Saemaeul Women’s Society of Ido 2-dong will offer rice-cake soup as part of the New Year’s celebrations.

31일, '제야의 용고타고'

무사안녕을 기원하며 새해를 맞이하는 제야의 용고타고 행사가 오는 31일 밤 제주시청 광장에서 열립니다.

이날 행사는 밤 10시부터 민속보존회 길트기 행사를 시작으로 레이져 쇼와 소프라노 강혜명의 공연으로 진행됩니다.

특히 용고타고는 각계각층 시민과 단체장 등 미리 선정된 50명에 이어 일반 시민들도 참여할 수 있습니다.

이와함께 이도2동 새마을부녀회가 시민들에게 새해맞이 떡국도 제공할 예정입니다.
