New rules in Jeju City for residential developers
Stricter oversight aims to minimize number of unsold homes

The Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation has designated Jeju City as a housing control region.

More than 1,000 residential units on the island remain unsold.

In a bid to minimize the number of vacant homes, the housing corporation drew up a list of 23 regions across the country that will now be subject to stricter oversight.

Developers need to submit their plans to officials when purchasing land for residential development. Officials will review the project to ensure there’s a good chance the homes will be sold.

The rules will be in effect in Jeju City from January 31st to March 31st.

제주시 '미분양 관리지역' 신규 지정

제주도내 미분양 주택이 1천세대를 넘은 가운데 제주시가 미분양 관리지역으로 지정됐습니다.

주택도시보증공사는 오늘(29일) 제주시를 포함한 전국 미분양 관리지역 23개 지역을 선정해 발표했습니다.

제주시는 특히 미분양 증가 등의 사유로 '미분양 우려' 지역으로 분류됐으며 기간은 내년 1월 31일부터 3월 31일까지 입니다.

미분양 관리지역으로 지정되면 주택 공급을 목적으로 사업부지를 매입할 때 분양보증 예비심사를 받아야 합니다.
