Company to focus on UHD broadcasts this year

KCTV Jeju kicked off the new year with a special meeting Tuesday.

Chairman Gong Seong-yong pointed out that the Jeju economy grew by an impressive six percent last year. He said a rising population and more tourist arrivals this year are more opportunities for the company. The chairman urged his staff to respond to changes in local society and look for innovative ways to utilize of them, which, he said will help develop regional culture and the economy.

In particular, he urged employees to work toward implementation of ten tasks this year, which include making a 100 percent switch to digital broadcasts and developing an ultra-high definition broadcasting system.

Finally, he said it was crucial that everyone in the company come together to help KCTV fulfill its role as a local media outlet during next June’s local elections.

올해도 인구증가와 관광객 증가가 예상되는만큼 변화를 읽고, 혁신한다면 지역문화 발전과 경제 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이라고 강조했습니다.

특히 올해 100% 디지털전환과 초고화질 UHD방송 시스템 구축 등 10가지 혁신업무를 추진하는데 만전을 기해줄 것을 당부했습니다.

또 다가오는 6.13 지방선거에서 언론의 역할을 다 할수 있도록 직원 모두가 힘을 모아달라고 말했습니다.
