‘Economic effect of AIIB meeting: \10.9b’
Jeju hosted annual meeting of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in June

Analysts say the island’s hosting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s annual meeting last June had an economic effect of nearly 11 billion won.

The Jeju Research Institute puts the figure at 10.9 billion won. That includes a 7.8-billion-won effect on production inducement and 3.1-billion-won in added value.

Researchers say it was particularly beneficial to the transportation service sector, the food and accommodations sector, and the cultural service sector.

They also say the meeting created 127 local jobs.

지난 6월 제주에서 개최된 아시아인프라투자은행 AIIB 연차총회의 경제유발 효과가 100억원이 넘는다는 조사결과가 나왔습니다.

제주연구원은 연차총회 개최로 생산유발효과 78억 원, 부가가치 효과 31억 원 등
모두 109억 원의 경제적 파급효과가 발생한 것으로 분석했습니다.

산업별로는 운송서비스업과 음식 숙박업, 문화 기타 서비스업이 혜택을 받은 것으로 조사됐습니다.

총회 개최에 따른 도내 고용 유발효과는 127명으로 나타났습니다.
