13th Jeju Peace Taekwondo Championship begins January 26
National team tryouts to follow

The 13th Jeju Peace Taekwondo Championship begins January 26th and will run through February first.

The Korea Taekwondo Association and KCTV Jeju are hosting the competition at the Jeju Sports Complex and Hallim Gymnasium.

Middle and high school students from across the nation will compete in the sparring and “poomsae,” or forms.

The forms events were expanded this year to include elementary school and adult categories. They will be the largest such events in the history of the championship.

Right after the championship, on February 2nd and 3rd, there will be final tryouts for the national taekwondo team.

제13회 제주평화기 전국태권도대회가 오는 26일부터 다음달 1일까지 일주일 동안
제주복합체육관과 한림체육관에서 열립니다.

대한태권도협회와 KCTV 제주방송이 주최하는 이번 대회는 전국의 중고등학생을 대상으로 겨루기와 품새부분으로 나눠 치러집니다.

특히 품새부문은 전국 초.중.고와 일반부로 확대돼 역대 최대 규모가 될 전망입니다.

평화기대회가 마무리 된 후인 다음달 2일과 3일 이틀동안은 국가대표 최종선발전도 진행됩니다.
