5. Province seeks to host KBO All-Star Game
Officials to inspect Jeju Stadium’s baseball field this month

The provincial government is making its case for Jeju hosting the Korea Baseball Organization’s All-Star Game this July.

Local officials visited the KBO office last week to discuss the idea. The KBO will send representatives to the island this month to inspect facilities at the Jeju Stadium’s baseball diamond before making a decision.

The host city selection procedure changed in 2013. Officials dropped the requirement that a city have a professional baseball team in order to host the all-star game.

제주도가 오는 7월 열리는 프로야구 올스타전 유치에 나섰습니다.

제주도는 지난 17일 한국야구위원회를 방문해 프로야구 올스타전 개최를
제안했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 한국야구위원회는 이달 중 제주종합경기장 야구장을 답사한 후 개최 여부를 결정할 예정입니다.

프로야구 올스타전은 지난 2013년부터 개최지 결정이 공모방식으로 변경돼 프로야구단이 없는 지역에도 열리게 됐습니다.
