Prosecutors, police, election commission teaming up for efforts

Local authorities have come up with a plan to keep the June 13th local elections clean and fair.

Representatives from the Jeju District Public Prosecutors’ Office, the police, and the Jeju Election Commission recently met to discuss the issue. They came up with strategies to prevent vote buying, the illegal involvement of public servants in campaigning, the manipulation of polls, and other violations.

Authorities will also put special emphasis on rooting out so-called ‘fake news’ as well as the spread of groundless allegations through social media.
