2. Community Chest sets new fundraising record
Nearly \4.8b in annual charity drive

The Community Chest of Jeju hit a new record in its annual charity drive.

It collected nearly 4.8 billion won in its Hope Sharing Campaign between November 20th and January 31st.

In addition to being the most the Community Chest has raised since its first charity drive in 1998, the total is 350 million won higher than the target for this year.

The donations will be used to support social welfare facilities and the underprivileged, which includes senior citizens who live alone, the disabled, and families in which the grandparents are raising their grandchildren.

나눔 캠페인, 사상 최고액 모금

희망 2018 나눔 캠페인이 사상 최고액을 모금하며 마무리됐습니다.

제주사회복지공동모금회에 따르면 지난해 11월 20일부터 지난달 31일까지 73일동안 진행된 나눔 캠페인 동해 모두 47억6천509만원이 모금됐습니다.

이는 목표액을 3억5천만원 초과 달성한 것으로 나눔 캠페인이 시작된 1998년 이래 역대 최대 모금액입니다.

모금된 성금은 도내 독거노인과 장애인, 조손가정 등 경제적인 어려움에 처한 저소득 가정과 사회복지지설에 지원됩니다.
