2. Support for snow-damaged greenhouses in Seogwipo
Police, military personnel will take part in month-long restoration effort

Seogwipo will begin a major recovery operation Monday targeting greenhouses that were damaged in recent snowstorms.

The month-long operation begins Monday. About 3,000 people??from the military, the police, and area construction companies??will be working on the project. They will be dispatched to the greenhouses of elderly farmers first, as they need the most help getting back on their feet. The city will also operate a special office to support the work until it’s done.

16 fruit farms have reported snow damage so far. Affected crops range from hallabong to redhyang to kiwis.

폭설 피해 시설하우스 긴급 복구

폭설로 인한 시설하우스 피해가 발생한 가운데 서귀포시가 다음주부터 긴급 복구작업에 나섭니다.

서귀포시는 오는 12일부터 한달 동안을 긴급복구 기간으로 설정하고 군경과 하우스 시공업체, 자생단체 등 3천여 명을 복구 작업에 투입합니다.

특히 복구가 완료될 때까지 일손돕기 지원 창구를 운영하고 당장 일손이 필요한
고령농가와 여성농가를 우선 지원할 방침입니다.

한편 이번 폭설로 서귀포시에서는 한라봉과 레드향, 키위 등 16개 농가가 하우스 붕괴 피해를 신고했습니다.
