5. ‘7,900 plots of ancestral land returned to rightful owners’
Service available through municipal, provincial administrations

A government service that helps people find ancestral land is becoming more popular.

The provincial government says 2,100 people have used it to find 79-hundred plots of land.

To qualify, an applicant must have both legal inheritance rights and a copy of his or her family register that demonstrates the ancestor’s death. Those interested may apply for the service through either the General Service Affairs Office in Jeju City or Seogwipo or the provincial department of design and architecture.

조상 땅 찾아주기 사업이 호응을 얻고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도는 지난해 조상땅 찾기와 개인별 토지소유현황 조회 서비스를 통해
2천 100여명에게 7천 900여필지의 토지를 찾아줬다고 밝혔습니다.

이 서비스를 신청하기 위해서는 법적 상속권이 있어야 하고 조상의 사망기록이 등재돼 있는 제적등본을 준비해 제주도 디자인건축지적과나 행정시 종합민원실을 방문하면 됩니다.
