Childfund Korea and the Jeju branch of the Rotary Club have launched a charitable project to build homes for people in need, and the first such home is now complete. Here’s Mike Laidman with the story. Report

Mr. (김용민) Kim Yong-min works at night and has five kids.
But today he finds a glimmer of hope in the midst of his exhausting life, for he has a new house.
His old house was built with recycled materials. It was tiny and unfit for his family.
A local charitable organization, a contractor, and member of the Jeju branch of the Rotary Club joined together to build the house for Kim’s family.
[Slug] First ‘Nest of Hope’ house complete
Mr. Kim’s house is the first result of the joint “Nest of Hope” project by Childfund Korea and the Jeju branch of the Rotary Club.

Donations for the new house were collected over the course of four months, since October of 2017, from every corner of the local community.
The house is about 60 square meters, but it’s comfortable enough for Kim’s family.
His children are also excited.

The Jeju branch of the Rotary Club wishes for all the children to always have hope and to be healthy.

Mr. Kim expressed his gratitude, saying he’ll find a way to return the community’s efforts.
