3. Province planning ‘facilities management corporation’
Entity would oversee Jeju’s public facilities

The provincial government wants to establish a tentatively-named “facilities management corporation” to run the island’s public facilities.

Local officials have asked to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to see if it would be possible.

If they conclude that it is feasible, local officials will begin discussions on establishing the corporation as well as other follow-up measures.

If the local cruise industry picks up, the province also wants to move ahead with the establishment of another public corporation to handle shipping, seaports, and logistics. The plan had been postponed.

제주도는 최근 행정안전부에 시설관리공단 설립이 가능한 지 사전 협의를 요청했습니다.

협의 결과 타당성이 있다고 결론나면 공기업 설립 심의 등 후속 절차를 진행할 계획입니다.

제주도는 크루즈 운항이 재개되면 지난 도정때 보류됐던 해운항만물류공사 설립도 재추진할 예정입니다.
