1. Employment rate falls
Down 2.4 pp in September to 68.2%

The employment rate in Jeju has fallen.

According to the Jeju branch of the Honam Regional Statistics Office, the rate dropped 2.4 percentage points last month compared to September 2017 to 68.2 percent.

Gains in agriculture and fishing, electricity, transportation, and the financial sector weren’t enough to offset losses in mining and manufacturing, construction, and food and accommodations.

지난달 제주지역 고용률이 하락했습니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 제주도 고용률은 68.2%로 1년 전보다 2.4%p 떨어졌습니다.

산업별로 보면 농림어업 분야와 전기, 운수, 금융업 종사자는 증가했지만 광공업과 건설업, 음식 숙박업 분야는 크게 줄어든 것으로 나타났습니다.
