5. Seongsan Sunrise Festival begins December 30
Organizers release detailed plans for event at Seongsan Sunrise Peak

The 26th Seongsan Sunrise Festival, which was canceled last year due to the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza, will run from December 30th to January first.

The festival organizing committee set the theme of this year’s event as “Seongsan Sunrise, the Beginning of a New Era,” and it finalized a detailed plan for the festivities, which will be on and around Seongsan Sunrise Peak.

Among the plans, it will expand programs to allow more area residents and young people to participate and it will set up a center to promote local specialties.

성산일출축제 30일 개막

지난해 고병원성 AI 확산으로 취소됐던 성산일출축제가 오는 30일부터 사흘 동안
성산일출봉 일원에서 열립니다.

성산일출축제위원회는 올해로 26회째를 맞는 축제의 주제를 '성산일출, 새 시대의 서막'으로 정하고 세부 계획을 마련했습니다.

특히 성산읍 마을 주민과 청소년들이 참여하는 프로그램을 확대하고 지역특산물 홍보관도 설치할 예정입니다.
