Some newlyweds qualify for 50% discount in acquisition tax on first home

There are a number of tax changes this year.

Jeju City officials say newlyweds will get a 50 discount on their acquisition tax for the purchase of their first home this year, if three criteria are met: the purchase price of the home may not exceed 300 million won, its area may not exceed 60 square meters, and the couple’s combined annual income may not exceed 70 million won.

The tax rate on home daycare centers, multi-family homes, and local children’s centers has been cut from 4 percent to 3 percent.

Finally, anyone buying a compact car for which the acquisition tax exceeds 500,000 won will have to pay the amount by which it exceeds 500,000 won. Through the end of last year, the acquisition tax on compacts was completely exempt.


신혼부부 첫 주택 구입 취득세 50% 감면

올해부터 신혼부부 주택 구입이나 경차 취득 등에 따른 세금 규정이 일부 변경됩니다.

제주시에 따르면 올해에 한해 신혼부부가 생애 최초로 구입하는 주택에 대해 합산소득 7천만 원 이하에 취득가객 3억 원 이하 전용면적 60제곱미터 이하인 경우 취득세가 50% 감면됩니다.

가정 어린이집이나 공동생활가정, 지역아동센터 등의 용도로 사용하는 경우
세율을 기존 4%에서 1에서 3%로 인하합니다.

경차를 취득할 경우 기존 취득세가 전액 감면이었지만 올해부터 취득세액이 50만 원을 초과하면 초과분에 대해서는 취득세를 납부해야 합니다.
