5. Apartment prices drop for first time in 5 years
Prices see a decline of 2.49% compared to last year

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport has announced that as of January 1st of this year, the prices of apartments in Jeju have dropped 2.49% compared to the same time last year.

This is the first time apartment values have seen a decrease since 2014, when prices dropped temporarily.

The ministry attributes the drop to the slowing rate of population growth and to the sluggish tourism industry.

전국 공동주택 공시가격 안에 따르면
제주지역은 지난해에 비해 2.49% 하락했습니다.

제주지역 공동주택 공시가격이 하락한 것은
일시적으로 하락현상을 보였던 지난 2014년 이후 5년 만입니다.

국토부는 하락 요인으로
인구 유입 증가의 주춤과
지역 내 관광산업 둔화 등을 꼽았습니다.
