1. Province to ban Grade-5 diesel vehicles on road
Heightened fine dust emergency mitigation measures

The provincial government will restrict the operation of aging diesel vehicles when fine dust emergency mitigation measures are issued.

Officials will impose fines of up to 100 thousand won to Grade-5 diesel vehicle drivers violating the restrictions against operating aging diesel cars.

This measure follows an ordinance regarding the reduction and management of fine dust levels in Jeju.

The local government plans on investing 11 billion won for 25 fine dust reduction projects such as an air quality surveillance system expansion and additional deployment of water sprinklers and vacuum cleaning vehicles.

Authorities will also conduct a research on the components of fine dust and its source of emission through June 2020 and devise a 5-year comprehensive countermeasures to address the rising local fine dust levels.

미세먼지 저감조치 발령, 노후차 운행 제한

앞으로 미세먼지 비상저감조치가 발령되면
제주에서도 노후 경유차량의 운행이 제한됩니다.

제주도는 최근 미세먼지 관리와 저감에 관한 조례가 시행됨에 따라
미세먼지 비상저감조치가 발령될 경우
제주 전 지역에서 배출가스 5등급 차량 운행을 제한하고
위반한 차량에 대해 10만 원 이하의 과태료를 부과합니다.

이와함께 대기 측정망을 확충하고
살수차량과 진공청소차량을 추가 배치하는 등
1천 100억 여원을 들여 25개 사업을 추진하기로 했습니다.

또 내년 6월까지 미세먼지 배출원과 성분을 분석하고
5개년 종합대책을 수립하기 위한 용역을 진행할 계획입니다.
