3. Expected expenditure for ritual goods to fall for this Chuseok holidays
Favorable summer weather increase agricultural produce

The local price of ritual goods for this year’s Chuseok holidays is predicted to fall slightly from that of last year.

A recent survey by the Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the prices of ritual goods sold at local traditional markets showed that this year’s average expenditure for ritual goods will be 237,900 won. This is a 0.5 percent drop from that of last year.

The cool and favorable weather during this summer increased the amount of agricultural produce, thus resulting in a decline in expenditure for grocery shopping for the Chuseok holidays.

However, the holiday came earlier than normal this year, and prices of goods that have yet to be harvested, such as apples, pears, spinach, and bellflower roots, remain expensive.

제주도내 재래시장을 중심으로 제수용품 가격을 조사한 결과
추석 차례상 제수용품 구매비용은
작년대비 0.5% 하락한 23만 7천900원으로 조사됐습니다.

폭염이 지속되고
태풍 등으로 인해 채소 과일 수확량이 적었던
지난해와 달리
올해는 비교적 선선한 여름날씨로 출하량이
증가했기 때문으로 분석됩니다.

다만, 예년보다 일찍 찾아온 추석 연휴로 인해
수확량이 미비한 사과와 배, 시금치, 도라지 등의 일부 품목은
아직 가격이 높은 것으로 나타났습니다.
