Koh Yu-jeong’s continued attempt to hide her face triggers criticism

The police is considering to introduce a new policy of taking mugshots of offenders and release them for personal information disclosure. This is due to rising public criticism regarding Koh Yu-jeong’s previous attempts to cover her face with her own hair regardless of the court order to disclose her personal information.

Late last month, the National Police Agency asked the Ministry of Justice to interpret whether taking mug shots to disclose personal information is legitimate.

Mug shots are usually taken in the U.S. with a suspect under arrest holding or wearing a license plate for identification around his or her neck.

The introduction of mug shots could prevent cases like Koh Yu-jeong hiding her face despite court order to disclose her personal information.

주로 미국 등지에서 사용되고 있습니다.

이번 머그샷 도입 검토는
고유정이 신상공개 이후에도
머리카락으로 얼굴 전체를 가림에 따라
이 같은 문제를 방지하려는 취지로 해석되고 있습니다.
