Authorities debate on cancelling Yerae Resort Complex

The province has postponed the cancellation of designating Yerae Resort Complex an investment promotion zone. This is due to the suspension of the development project of Yerae Resort Complex.

The local government has put off its decision during its discussion at the International Free City Comprehensive Plan review meeting on Wednesday.

The reviewers judged that the cancellation could provide further excuse for Berjaya Jeju Resort to pursue litigation and that the only benefit from the decision would be collecting tax cuts given to the developer over the past three years.

The matter will be further discussed later at another review meeting.

제주도는 4일 열린 국제자유도시 종합계획 심의회의에서
예래단지 투자진흥지구 지정 해제 건에 대한 결론을 보류했습니다.

심의위원들은
제주도가 지구 지정을 해제할 경우
사업자에게 소송의 빌미를 제공할 수 있고,
최근 3년 간 감면해준 세금만 환수되는 만큼
실익이 없다고 판단했습니다.

이에따라
예래단지에 대한 투자진흥지구 지정 해제는
추후 심의 회의에서 논의될 전망입니다.
