Jeju records second largest number of livestock odor complaints
1,600 local complaints reported out of 12,000 reports nationwide

The number of livestock odor complaints in Jeju was the second highest in the country last year.

According to the National Audit data submitted by the Ministry of Environment, 12,000 complaints of livestock odor were filed with local governments nationwide last year.

Amongst them, Jeju Island had the second largest number of complaints in the country with 1,600 cases, after Gyeongsangnam-do Province, which recorded some 5,000 complaints.

The number of complaints in Jeju and Gyeongsangnam-do Province increased sharply due to the establishment of new residential areas.

지난해 전국 지방자치단체에 접수된
축산악취 민원은
1만 2천여 건으로 파악됐습니다.

이 가운데 제주가 1천 600여 건으로
경상남도 5천여 건에 이어
전국에서 두 번째로 많았습니다.

제주와 경남지역의 경우
집단 거주지의 신규 조성에 따라
축산악취 민원이 급격히 증가한 것으로 분석됐습니다.
