DEF Shortage Crisis Expected

Diesel exhaust fluid shortage has become a nationwide issue and it is expected that DEF for public buses in Jeju will run out by the end of month. DEF is a key agent needed for operation of diesel freight and passenger vehicles.

According to the province, out of 870 public buses including
town shuttle buses, 690 operate with DEF.
Based on the stock of DEF in the province, it is anticipated
that they will last until the end of this month.

In addition, it is forecasted that the amount of
urea solution needed for freight vehicles,
taxis, chartered buses, ambulances
vehicles use for facilities for the disablde will also run out
by the end of this month.

The provincial government is establishing
emergency countermeasures to prepare for a prolonged
DEF shortage crisis.

To this, the government has supplied DEF to bus companies throughout the province. The volume is approximately 2,000 liters, which is the amount of a day's worth of all buses operating in the province.



대중교통 요소수, 이달 말 재고 바닥…확보 비상

전국적으로 요소수 대란이 일고 있는 가운데 제주지역 대중교통 차량의 한계점이
이달 말까지로 예상돼 물량 추가 확보에 비상이 걸렸습니다.

제주도가 집계한 요소수 비축량과 재고 현황에 따르면
도내 준공영과 공영, 마을버스 870여 대 가운데
요소수를 이용하는 차량은 690대로 현재 비축한 요소수 물량으로
운행 가능한 기간은 이달 말까지로 예상되고 있습니다.

민간 분야의 화물차나 택시, 전세버스, 장애인시설 차량,
의료기관 구급차도 이달 말이면 요소수가 바닥날 것으로 예상됐습니다.
제주도가 정부로 부터 배부받은 요소수를 도내 버스업체에 우선 공급했습니다.
물량은 2천리터 정도로 도내 운행되는 전체 버스의 하루치 분량입니다.
