For the first time on Jeju, local farmers will begin receiving an annual allowance.

400,000 won will go to each farming family, with 56,000 families eligible for the aid.
A total of 22.4 billion won in provincial funding will be allocated to the program.

Payments will be added directly to the province's local prepaid cards, which are designed to help boost the local economy.
Those who earn less than 37 million won from sources outside agriculture, and farm businesses registered in Jeju for over two years, will be eligible.

The funds are expected to be paid in June at the earliest, after detailed guidelines for the payment and a list of beneficiaries are set.

Along with the farmers' allowances, grants for women who are employed in farming and fishing have also been expanded. These grants can be used at arts, culture and leisure businesses.

The grants can be spent at theaters, gyms, clinics, hospitals, and supermarkets.

These benefits have been raised to 200,000 won from 150,000 won.

Funds allocated to ensure that people employed in the fishing industry have a stable income and to support public interest activities, such as the use of eco-friendly fish feed, have also been increased to 800,000 won from 750,000 won.


농민수당 첫 지급, 여성 농어민 지원 확대


제주에서도 올해부터 농민들을 대상으로 수당이 지급됩니다.

한 농가에 연간 40만 원씩 모두 5만 6천여 농가가 대상으로
최대 224억 원이 소요될 전망입니다.

농민 수당은
지역화폐인 '탐나는전'으로 지급됨으로써
도내 소상공인들에게도 도움이 될 것으로 보입니다.

지급 대상은
2년 이상 제주에서 농업경영체를 유지하고
농업 외 소득이 3,700만원을 넘지 않는 농가입니다.

수당 지급을 위한 지침 마련과
실제 대상자 선정까지의 기간을 감안하면
이르면 6월부터 지급될 예정입니다.

농민 수당과는 별도로
여성 농업인과 어업인들의 문화,
여가활동 기회를 확대하기 위한 행복이용권 지원액도 확대됩니다.

영화관이나 헬스장,
병의원, 마트 등에서 자유롭게 사용할 수 있습니다.

지난해까지 연간 15만원이 지원됐는데
올해부터는
20만원으로 인상됐습니다.

어업인의 소득 안정과
공익 활동 지원을 위해 도입된
수산공익직불제 지원액도
지난해까지 75만원에서 올해 80만원으로 상향 조정됐습니다.
