Consumer Prices Rise Ahead of Chuseok

With about a month to the Chuseok holiday, consumer prices are continuously rising while putting price management on alert.

According to the Local Price Commission, consumer prices in the province have been on the rise with a 7% increase in range for the second consecutive month, rising 7.4% from the same period last year.

In particular, prices of agricultural and livestock products soared, and prices of major high-quality products also rose 7.1% from last year's Chuseok period.

The Local Price Commission plans to collaborate with Nonghyup to expand the supply of agricultural products and establish measures to stabilize prices for Chuseok, which will include securing pork auctions and supporting funds for meat production.


추석 앞두고 소비자물가 상승세 지속…농축산물 급등

추석을 한달 가량 앞두고 소비자물가가 계속해서 오름세를 보이며 물가 관리에 비상이 걸렸습니다.

제주도 물가대책위원회에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 소비자물가는 지난해 같은 기간 보다 7.4% 오르는 등 두달 연속 7%대 상승세를 보이고 있습니다.

특히 농축산물 가격이 급등하며 주요 성수품 가격도 지난해 추석기간보다 7.1% 상승한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주도 물가대책위는 농협 등과 협조 체계를 구축해 농산물 공급을 확대하고 돼지고기 경매물량 확보와 도축 지원 등 추석 물가 안정 대책을 마련할 방침입니다.
