The government is planning to strengthen the preservation of school records related to disciplinary measures against actors of school violence and incorporating them into university admissions.

The Ministry of Education has submitted a plan to the National Assembly Education Committee to eradicate school violence, with the aim of finalizing the plan by the end of this month.

One of the key measures is to extend the retention period for the school records of students who commit acts of violence from the current two years to up to 10 years, depending on the student’s grade level.

The plan aims to enhance the current admission process, which allows students to avoid consequences after they are transferred to another school as currently students are evaluated only on their national college entrance exam (also known as the "Suneung") scores.





교육부, '학폭 징계' 대학입시 반영 검토


정부가 학교폭력 가해 학생에 대한 학교생활기록부 조치 기록 보존을 강화하고 대학입시에 반영하는 방안을 검토합니다.

교육부는 이 같은 내용을 골자로 한 학교폭력 근절대책 추진방향을 국회 교육위원회에 제출하고 이달 말까지 최종안을 마련하기로 했습니다.

주요 대책으로는 가해 학생 학폭위 조치 생활기록부 보존 기간을 종전 2년에서 학년별로 최대 10년까지 연장합니다.

특히 중징계인 전학 등의 처분을 받고도 수능 점수만을 반영하는 전형으로 피해갈 수 있는 것을 보완할 방침입니다.
