Int’l Cruise Ship Arrives in 3 Years


Early in the morning, the international cruise ship, Amadea, operated by a German company, arrived at the Jeju Port.


The World Wide Cruise Ship, with a length of 193 meters and a tonnage of 29,000, has about 800 passengers and crew members on board.
It departed from Nice, France in December of last year and arrived in Jeju after traveling through Central and South America and Japan.

The travel schedule has been well prepared so that passengers can enjoy the most beautiful sightseeing in Jeju. So, I am satisfied staying here.

The cruise industry, which was halted due to COVID-19, has resumed operations after a hiatus of three years.

Tourists stayed in Jeju for about nine hours, enjoying Jeju's sights such as (성산일출봉) Seongsan Ilchulbong and the (해녀) Haenyeo Museum.
With the resumption of cruise ship arrivals, related marketing is also starting in earnest.


This year, 50 cruise ships are expected to arrive in Jeju, carrying 120,000 tourists. On the 19th of this month, an international cruise ship with a tonnage of 115,000 is expected to arrive at the Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port in (강정) Gangjeong.

The province plans to prepare measures so that the attraction of cruise tourism can lead to a resurgence of related industries and vitality in the local economy.

Initially, shuttle buses will be operated between (강정) Gangjeong Port and the Seogwipo (매일 올레) Maeil Olle Market, and visitor programs will be operated in the downtown area.

The Jeju cruise tourism market, which reached its peak with 1.2 million visitors in 2016, has struggled with consecutive setbacks such as the deployment of THAAD and COVID-19.


However, with the resumption of overseas travel and the reopening of the cruise tourism industry, attention is being paid to whether it can regain its reputation as the best cruise port in Asia.




"반갑다 크루즈"…코로나 이후 3년만


이른 아침 독일 선적의 국제 크루즈선 아마데아호가
제주항에 들어왔습니다.

길이 193m, 2만 9천톤 급으로
관광객과 선원 등 800여 명이 탑승한 월드와이드 크루즈입니다.

지난해 12월 프랑스 니스를 출발해
중남미와 일본을 거쳐 제주에 도착했습니다.

승객들이 제주에서 가장 아름다운 관광을 즐길 수 있도록 여행 일정이 준비돼 있습니다. 그래서 여기에 머무는 게 만족스럽습니다.

코로나19로 끊겼던 크루즈 뱃길이 다시 열린 건
3년여 만 입니다.

관광객들은 9시간 가량 제주에 머물며
성산일출봉과 해녀박물관 등을 둘러보며
제주 관광을 즐겼습니다.

크루즈 입항 재개되면서
관련 마케팅도 본격적으로 기지개를 켜고 있습니다“

올해 제주에는 50척의 크루즈가
관광객 12만명을 태우고 들어올 예정입니다.

당장 오는 19일에는 11만5천톤급 국제 크루즈선이
강정 민군복합형관광미항에 입항합니다.

제주도는 크루즈 유치가
관련 산업의 재도약과 지역경제 활력으로
이어질 수 있도록 방안을 마련할 계획입니다.

우선 강정항에서는
서귀포 매일올래시장을 오가는 셔틀버스를 운행하고
원도심과 연계한 기항 프로그램을 운영합니다.
