The number of golf course users in Jeju Island has decreased significantly due to the increase in overseas travel and the effects of COVID-19.

According to Jeju Island, the number of golf course users in the area for January was 104,800, which is a 45.9% decrease compared to the same period last year with 89,000 fewer users.

In particular, the number of non-resident and foreign golf course users in January was 56,400, which is a significant decrease of 55.5% compared to the previous year.

The reason behind the decrease is analyzed to be due to domestic golf tourists having increased demand for overseas travel and a decrease in price competitiveness with the increase in green fees and cart fees.




도내 골프장 이용객 감소세 두드러져


해외여행이 늘어나면서 코로나로 특수를 누리던 제주도내 골프장 이용객 감소가 두드러지고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 지난 1월 한달 도내 골프장 이용객은 10만 4천800여 명으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 8만 9천여 명, 45.9% 감소했습니다.

특히 1월 도외와 외국인 이용객은 5만 6천400여 명으로 지난해 보다 55.5%나 크게 줄어든 것으로 집계됐습니다.

골프장 이용객 감소는 내국인 골프 관광객들이 해외여행 수요가 늘고 그린피와 카트비 등 이용요금 인상으로 가격 경쟁력이 떨어진 것도 주요한 요인으로 작용하고 있다는 분석입니다.
