The Jeju Province Waterworks Headquarters recently announced that the results of radiation substance testing at water purification plants and freshwater facilities across the province have all shown to be safe.

Since the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, they have been examining artificial radioactive substances, iodine, and cesium, in tap water supplied by 17 purification plants.

Additionally, tritium testing has been done on seawater-inflow source water since August.

The Waterworks Headquarters plans to expand radiation testing of tap water from once a year to four times, starting this year.

제주도 상하수도본부가
최근 도내 정수장과 담수화시설에 대한
방사성 물질 검사결과
모두 안전한 것으로 나타났다고 밝혔습니다.

일본 후쿠시마 원전사고 이후
17개 정수장에서 공급되는 수돗물에 대한
인공방사성 물질인
요오드와 세슘을 조사하고 있고
지난해 8월부터는
해수 유입 원수에 대해
삼중수소 검사도 진행하고 있습니다.

상하수도본부는
올해부터
수돗물에 대한 방사능 검사를
연 1회에서 4회로 확대시행할 계획입니다.
