Last month, consumer prices in Jeju increased by 2% for the seventh consecutive month.

According to the Jeju Office of the Honam Regional Statistics Office, consumer prices in the province rose by 2.3% compared to a year ago.

Although the rate of increase in consumer prices slowed by 0.2 percentage points compared to April, it has remained in the 2% range for seven consecutive months since November last year.

However, the fresh food index, which includes items with high price volatility such as fresh fish, vegetables, and fruits due to weather conditions or seasonal factors, surged by 18.1%, placing a significant burden on the local economy.

지난달 제주지역 소비자물가가 7개월 연속
2%대 상승률을 기록했습니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 도내 소비자물가는
1년 전과 비교해 2.3% 상승했습니다.

소비자물가 오름폭은 지난 4월에 비해
0.2%포인트 둔화된 가운데
지난해 11월부터 7개월 연속 2%대를 유지했습니다.

다만 신선 생선과 채소, 과일 등
기상조건이나 계절에 따라
가격변동이 큰 품목으로 구성된 신선식품지수는
18.1% 급등하며
서민경제 부담을 키우고 있습니다.
