Trespassing For a Photo Ops is Illegal

The unique atmosphere of Jeju, with its forest paths and oreum, has made various spots in this area popular for wedding photoshoots and snaps, attracting many visitors.
However, the problem is that some people enter private properties in search of special spots different from others to take their photos.
People enter beautiful buckwheat or radish fields, ruining the crops that farmers have worked hard to grow, causing headaches for the owners.
They have put up no entry signs everywhere and even included account numbers to charge fees for use.
However, it's impossible to monitor every entry.

The field is isolated, so photographers enter first to take photos. It's trespassing. They shouldn't enter because we are growing feed for our cows, which they are damaging.
Sometimes people are unaware that the land has an owner, resulting in fights or police reports when the owner discovers them taking photos.
Reports related to this issue are especially concentrated from spring, when flowers bloom, until just before the heat starts in earnest.
Entering private property without permission and damaging crops can lead to punishment according to related laws, so special caution is necessary.

Trespassing on private property can lead to civil lawsuits for damages. If crops are trampled or damaged, it can result in criminal charges of property damage, punishable by up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 7 million won.

The police advise that, to avoid possible punishment, it is better to take photos outside or to check information about the location in advance.

남들과 다른 특별한 장소를 찾아
개인 사유지까지 들어가
사진을 찍는 경우가 있다는 겁니다.
예쁜 꽃이 피는 메밀밭이나 무 밭에 들어가
애써 키운 농작물을 망치기도 하면서
주인들은 골머리를 앓습니다.
곳곳에 출입 금지 안내문을 써 붙이기도 하고,
아예 사용료 명목으로 돈을 내도록
계좌번호까지 쓰여 있기도 합니다.
하지만 일일이 지키고 있을 수도 없는 상황.

거기 들판이 주변에 아무것도 없고 하니까 작가분들이 먼저 들어가서 사진 찍게 된 거죠. 무단 침입을 해서. 들어가면 안 되는 거잖아요. 왜냐면 저희가 소 먹이를 주려고 키우는 건데 그걸 훼손하는 거니까.
주인이 있는 땅인 줄 모르고
안에서 사진을 찍다가
뒤늦게 이를 발견한 주인과 싸움이 나거나
경찰에 신고가 접수되기도 합니다.
특히 꽃이 피는 봄부터
본격적인 더위가 시작되지 직전인 이맘때쯤까지
관련 신고가 집중되고 있습니다.
허락 없이 사유지에 들어가
농작물 등에 피해를 입힐 경우
관련 법에 따라 처벌로도 이어질 수 있어
각별히 유의해야 합니다.

(무단으로) 사유지 침입할 경우에 피해 보상 등 민사소송으로 이어질 수 있고. 농작물을 밟고 지나가거나 훼손하는 경우에는 형법상 재물손괴로 3년 이하의 징역 또는 7백만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해질 수 있습니다.

알아보는 것이 좋다고 경찰은 당부했습니다.
