Plans are underway to further expand the initiative of reducing road widths to increase pedestrian pathways.

Jeju Province has announced plans to enhance pedestrian environments on new urban roads by expanding sidewalks, based on traffic surveys, to create more people-centered spaces.

Additionally, additional bicycle paths along with amenities will be made available in resting areas to encourage walking and jogging.

The plan also includes the use of 3D simulation technologies to design virtual environments that replicate actual roads, enhancing residents' understanding and ensuring efficient project execution.



시내권 관통 신설 도로 '다이어트 사업' 확대

도로 폭을 줄이고 보행로를 확대하는 이른바 도로 다이어트 사업이 최근 첫 선을 보인 가운데
앞으로 이같은 사업이 확대 추진됩니다.

제주도는 앞으로 시내권을 관통해 신설하는 도로의 경우 교통량 조사결과에 따라 보도를 확장해 사람 중심으로 보행환경을 개선합니다.

또 도민들의 쉼터를 중심으로 걷기와 조깅이 편리하도록 하고 자전거도로를 조성합니다.


이와 함께 3D 시뮬레이션 기술을 도입해 설계도면을 영상화. 입체화 하고 실제 도로와 유사한 가상환경을 구축함으로써
주민 이해도를 높이고 효율적인 사업을 추진한다는 구상입니다.
