Earning positive feedback, the ‘Earthing Square’ in Seogwipo City, the first of its kind to be established in the nation last year, has reached its first anniversary with up to 450 visitors per day.

According to Seogwipo City, the Earthing Square has attracted an estimated 68,000 visitors in the year since its opening.

The square, which opened in January last year as part of the Healthy City initiative, was developed with an investment of 139 million won in a rainwater storage area. It provides a space for barefoot walking.

To enhance visitor satisfaction, Seogwipo City is implementing additional features, including landscape lighting, sunshades, and a nighttime photo zone.



서귀포시 황토 어싱광장 1년, 6만 8천명 방문

지난해 전국 최초로 서귀포시에 조성된 황토 어싱광장이 개장 첫돌을 맞은 가운데 하루 방문객이 최대 450명에 이르는 등 호응을 얻고 있습니다.

서귀포시에 따르면 어싱광장은 개장 이후 1년 동안 방문객은
6만 8천 명에 이르는 것으로 추산되고 있습니다.

어싱광장은 지난해 1월 건강도시만들기사업의 일환으로 1억 3천900만 원을 투입해 우수 저류지에 만들어진 황토 맨발걷기 운동 공간입니다.

서귀포시는 방문객들의 만족도를 높이기 위해
경관조명과 차양막, 야간 포톤존 등의 설치를 추진하고 있습니다.
