To prepare for abnormal summer weather conditions, the Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services has activated its Agricultural Disaster Response Office.

The task force will analyze weather conditions, share timely information, and establish pre- and post-disaster response measures. It will also provide rapid technical support and recovery plans in the event of damage.

In particular, efforts will focus on minimizing heat damage to citrus crops through guidance on maintaining optimal fruit loads, and effective temperature and moisture control, along with continuous monitoring.

With forecasts predicting higher-than-average temperatures, heatwaves, tropical nights, heavy rainfall and a higher risk of typhoons, the agency stresses the importance of proactive measures this summer.
