Tourists in Jeju who rent and verify the use of electric vehicles (EVs) will receive local currency as a reward.

The Jeju Tourism Organization is running a campaign where visitors can present their EV rental agreement at the Jungmun (중문) Duty-Free Shop and, after pre-registering for the Jeju Digital Travel Pass, receive either a 20,000 KRW "Tamnaneunjeon” (탐나는전) gift certificate or a 20,000 KRW voucher for use at the duty-free shop.

The benefit will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to 2,500 participants.

With this campaign, the tourism authority aims to boost EV rental usage, which accounted for only 2.3% of all rental cars as of last year.

제주에서 전기차 렌터카를 빌려 인증하는 관광객에게
지역화폐 탐나는전이 지급됩니다.

제주관광공사는 전기차 이용 캠페인을 시행해
중문면세점에서
전기차 렌터카 계약서를 인증하고
제주 디지털 관광증의 사전 신청을 완료하면
탐나는전 2만원 상품권 또는
중문면세점 2만원 이용권을 지급합니다.

2천 500대에 한해 선착순 지급할 예정으로
관광공사는
이번 캠페인을 통해
지난해 기준 2.3%에 그치고 있는
전기차 렌터카 이용률을 끌어올린다는 계획입니다.
