The harvest of Jeju-grown sweet corn has officially begun, with farmers urged to maintain rigorous quality management.

According to the Jeju Agricultural Technology Center, this year’s cultivation area for sweet corn is approximately 190 hectares. Harvest started late last month with greenhouse-grown corn, followed by sequential harvesting of field tunnel-grown corn.

Jeju’s sweet corn can be harvested up to 20 days earlier than in other regions, giving it a competitive edge in the market.

The Agricultural Technology Center emphasized the importance of continuous pest and disease control, timely harvesting, and sorting according to standards to maintain this competitive advantage.
