Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters is urging caution over wood chipper accidents ahead of the spring farming season.

Over the past five years, Jeju recorded 97 such accidents. More than half, 53.6 percent, occurred in March and April.

By cause of accident, entrapment injuries accounted for the largest share at 72.2%, followed by cuts, and collisions.

Fire authorities have issued a safety alert for shredder-related accidents during the busy farming season and urged strict compliance with basic safety rules to prevent incidents.

봄철 과수 전정 등으로 파쇄기 안전사고가 집중되면서
각별한 주의가 요구되고 있습니다.

제주소방안전본부에 따르면
최근 5년 사이
제주에서 발생한
파쇄기 안전사고는 모두 97건으로

이 가운데
3,4월에 53.6%가 발생해 봄철에 집중되는 것으로 나타났습니다.

사고 원인별로는
끼임 사고가 72.2%로 가장 많았고,
깔림, 베임,
부딪힘 등의 순이였습니다.

소방은 농번철 파쇄기 안전사고 주의보를 발령하고
사고 예방을 위해
작업 기본 안전수칙의 준수를 당부했습니다.
