With the launch of the 9th elected administration just two weeks away, Governor-elect Wi Seong-gon (위성곤) held a press briefing on the 17th.

Governor-elect Wi announced that he will immediately execute a 300-billion-won supplementary budget and launch an emergency livelihood recovery. He also emphasized his intentions to build a ‘Great Jeju’ through strong communication and future policies.

On the second airport, a conflict resolution plan will be developed aiming to have the issue resolved within 2026. He also noted that island-style bus stops are under long-term review for potential elimination.

In addition, the Qingdao air route provision is under review given the diplomatic considerations involved and the 15-minute city concept is being redefined.

Post-inauguration personnel changes will also remain minimal, outside of any necessary administrative restructuring.

취임 즉시 3천억 규모의 추경과
민생 회복 100일 비상 대책을 가동하겠으며
특히 현장 중심 소통과
미래산업 준비 정책으로
위대한 제주를 실현하겠다고 강조했습니다.

제2공항 문제는
환경영향평가 초안 제출 이후 갈등 해소 방안을 마련해 내년 안에 매듭짓겠다고 밝혔으며
섬식 정류장은 장기적으로 폐지 방향을 검토 중이라고 설명했습니다.

칭다오 항로는 외교 문제도 얽혀 있는 만큼
협약 사항을 신중히 검토하고 있고
15분 도시는
개념 재정립을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

또 취임 후 인사 규모는
필요에 의한 행정 조직 개편 이외에는
소폭으로 진행할 계획이라고 덧붙였습니다.
